We rounded up a few who stood out the most:

Basketball runs deep in the Lehigh Valley. Some of these players were born and raised here. Others came through for college, for a few pro seasons, or to coach local teams like the Allentown Jets or the Pennsylvania ValleyDawgs. Together, they helped build a basketball legacy that stretches from packed high school gyms to NBA courts and overseas leagues.

Here are a few names that tell the story.

Rooted Documentary Returns to Bethlehem This October

Rooted, a 75-minute documentary about the transformation of Bethlehem from a steel town to an arts town, will be screened twice this October, each followed by conversations that deepen the story.

After premiering at the SouthSide Film Festival and earning a nomination for Best Documentary at the Newark International Film Festival, Rooted continues to spark discussion about the city’s creative rebirth. From Roi and the Secret People to the California Guitar Trio: Fall 2025 Live at Godfrey Daniels

Since 1976, Godfrey Daniels has stood at the heart of Bethlehem’s Southside as one of the country’s most respected live music listening rooms.

It’s the kind of space that has to be experienced to be understood; where the focus is on the music and the stories, not on cell phones or background noise.

The venue continues its legacy this fall with a lineup spanning folk, roots, Americana, blues, and more.

From international performers to local songwriters, every show invites intentional listening and offers a rare connection where artist and audience meet on equal ground.
