Bethlehem Area School District Earns Three National Awards for Videos

BETHLEHEM, PA, June 2023 – The Bethlehem Area School District won three awards in the National School Public Relations Association’s (NSPRA) Publications and Digital Media Excellence Awards. 

The NSPRA Awards recognize outstanding education publications, e-newsletters, digital media programs, radio/TV/video programs, social media, infographics, blogs and websites. NSPRA uses experienced, award-winning professionals to evaluate entries. 

This year, the NSPRA Awards received more than 1,880 submissions.

Bethlehem Area School District won an Award of Merit for its video on 102-year-old Liberty High School alumnus, Virginia Klotz Gall. Virginia was visited by Liberty High School Theatre Club, which she was once a member of, and was presented with the diploma she was unable to receive years ago. 

The Bethlehem Area School District also earned two Honorable Mentions for their holiday video featuring Superintendent Dr. Joseph J. Roy and a mail mixup with Santa (played by Assistant Superintendent Dr. Jack Silva) as well as a video featuring Freedom High School Senior Emma Lazo, recipient of Prestigious Cooke College Scholarship.

The Bethlehem Area School District also recently won six awards in the 2022 Pennsylvania School Public Relations Association (PenSPRA) “Excellence in Education Communication” contest, including awards for the district’s YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook accounts.
