The Lehigh Valley tradition raises money for Turning Point of the Lehigh Valley

BETHLEHEM, PA (December, 2023) – More Miles Automotive, in collaboration with Lehigh Valley with Love Media, is excited to announce the much-anticipated return of the annual “Peter Kearns Memorial Christmas Tree Toss” benefiting Turning Point of the lehigh Valley on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at 11 a.m.

The event will take place at More Miles Automotive, located at 1458 Stefko Blvd., Bethlehem, PA.

This unique and festive event has been a holiday tradition since its inception in 2002 when the late Peter Kearns, then owner of Meineke Car Care, challenged Mike DeCrosta of More Miles Automotive to a friendly contest. What began as an eccentric idea became a beloved tradition that celebrates the holiday season in a lively and charitable manner.

Originally concluding in 2013 after Kearns’ retirement, the event was resurrected in 2015 due to overwhelming demand from fans and former participants. Despite Kearns’ passing in 2016, his family continues to attend and support the event in his memory.

The ‘Peter Kearns Memorial Christmas Tree Toss’ is not only a fun and quirky way to celebrate the season but also a charitable endeavor, with all proceeds going to Turning Point of the Lehigh Valley.

Participants are encouraged to attend and compete for the title of this year’s champion by throwing Christmas trees for distance. Children will also have the opportunity to toss smaller trees. Attendees can enjoy small giveaways and refreshments throughout the event.

Donations of $5 per throw are encouraged, and contributions of any amount are gladly accepted. Donations can be made in person at the event or by mailing a check payable to Turning Point of the Lehigh Valley ℅ More Miles Automotive, 1458 Stefko Blvd., Bethlehem, PA.

Come join us for a day of festive fun, competition, and goodwill as we continue this cherished tradition in the spirit of giving back to our community.

Lehigh Valley Restaurant Challenge

Reddit user u/modigliani55 recently shared their rather extensive Lehigh Valley Restaurant Challenge in r/lehighvalley.

Take a look at their rules and comprehensive spreadsheet!

My wife and I moved to the Lehigh Valley for work mid-pandemic – and this is to be our forever (or foreseeably forever home). So proposed that we attempt to eat at/from every restaurant in the three big cities (Allentown, Bethlehem, Easton). We’ve been keeping track for the past few years but thanks to posters here on Reddit, I finally put together a list from the state health board that makes it seem doable. Around 650 restaurants/food establishments – we’ve done a little over 100 so far. Thought l’d share in case anyone wants to join in. – Reddit

Good luck!
