The Downtown Bethlehem Association’s inaugural Clash of the Carols caroling competition crowned its first champion in breathtaking fashion this December.
Liberty High School’s Acapella Singers were named champions by a group of three judges during the event’s third and final weekend on Saturday, December 21, 2019. The group entered the final weekend only after being voted in on the Downtown Bethlehem Association’s website.

The competition took place over three Saturdays in December from 12 PM – 4:30 PM, in the Sun Inn Courtyard, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
Each week, soloists from different age groups and various choir group sizes competed to be named best in their category by a panel of acclaimed judges, as well as a Wild Card, which, as we mentioned before, was won by Liberty High School.
Winners from each week were awarded a cash prize for their music department or organization. December 7: Northeast Singers of Northeast Middle School, Arts Academy Charter Middle School, Enchord of Nazareth Area High School, Liberty High School A Capella Singers, Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts – Touring Choir, Rhys Williams; Special Performance: Seth Witcher.
December 14: Voices of Inclusion Choral Ensemble VOICE, Cecily Dodge, and Emily Horner; Special Performances: Eliza Rush and Tolu & Toyo Adebayo.
