Ever wanted to video chat with 50 of your closest friends? Well, Facebook is making it even easier to connect and giving users one less reason to use another app. And, yes, it allows for up to 50 people to join at one time.
Facebook recently announced that group video chat would be supported for Facebook Messenger and on the web and it’s stupid easy to do.
More and more people use messaging in groups for lots of different reasons like keeping everyone up to date, planning a family vacation or to share a few jokes. With 245 million people making video calls in Messenger every month, now we’re bringing everyone on Messenger the ability to turn group chats into face-to-face conversations no matter where you are – whether you’re down the street or halfway across the world. To get started, simply make a new group conversation. Add whoever you want into the group and then click the little video icon.
It will then send a message to the user giving them the option to join, whether they are using Facebook on mobile or desktop.
Voila! You’re now chatting live with a bunch of your friends.
We’ve tried it on WiFi and the quality has been super snappy and clear. Give it a try.
