Bethlehem Area School District Earns Three National School Public Relations Association Awards

BETHLEHEM, PA, July 2024 – The Bethlehem Area School District is excited to announce the winning of  three national awards from National School Public Relations Association’s (NSPRA) Publications and Digital Media Excellence Awards. 

The NSPRA Awards recognize outstanding education publications, e-newsletters, digital media programs, radio/TV/video programs, social media, infographics, blogs and websites. NSPRA uses experienced, award-winning professionals to evaluate entries. 

Bethlehem Area School District won an Award of Merit for its “BASD E-NEWS” newsletter that is sent regularly to the community, district, and others who have signed up. The newsletter highlights recent and upcoming events, showcases district videos or important social media posts, includes alumni highlights, and includes important information or district news.

The Bethlehem Area School District also earned two Honorable Mentions for their Hispanic Heritage Month video series and the announcement video for new Bethlehem Area School District Superintendent, Dr. Jack Silva. 

“I am proud of our Communication Team for their exceptional efforts in spotlighting the achievements of our BASD Community,” stated Dr. Jack P. Silva, Superintendent of Schools.

In addition, Barbara Clymer, Communication Coordinator for the Bethlehem Area School District, was also nominated as the 2024 Communicator of the Year, representing Pennsylvania at this year’s National Conference. 

Earlier in the year, the Bethlehem Area School District won two awards in the 2024 Pennsylvania School Public Relations Association (PenSPRA) “Excellence in Education Communication” contest, held in March at Penn State University in State College, PA. The Bethlehem Area School District also won three awards in the 2023 NSPRA Awards.

Bethlehem Area School District Continues Winning Streak with State Awards for Communication Excellence

BETHLEHEM, PA, March 2024 – The Bethlehem Area School District (BASD) is proud to announce its continued recognition at the annual Pennsylvania School Public Relations Association (PenSPRA) “Excellence in Education Communication” Contest.  

PenSPRA’s annual “Excellence in Education Communications” Contest celebrates the diverse and impactful work of communications professionals across Pennsylvania. The contest recognizes outstanding achievements in various categories, showcasing how effective communication strengthens schools and communities.

The district was honored with the following awards at the 2023-2024 contest held at Penn State University in State College on March 7-8:

Bethlehem Area School District Earns Six State Awards for Video, Social Media, Websites, and Crisis Communication

BETHLEHEM, PA, May 2022 – The Bethlehem Area School District won six awards in the 2022 Pennsylvania School Public Relations Association (PenSPRA) “Excellence in Education Communication” contest, including awards for the district’s YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook accounts.

The PenSPRA Awards represent an annual Excellence In Education Communications Contest. Entries are accepted in a number of categories to reflect the scope of work often undertaken by communications professionals throughout the state of Pennsylvania.

“I am proud of the work our communications team does to inform the public of the achievements of our students, teachers, administrators and staff,” said Bethlehem Area School District Superintendent, Dr. Joseph J. Roy. “Public schools depend on the support of our community and the BASD communications team does a wonderful job of building that community support.”
