Did ‘Obsession’ Sneak an Easton Reference Into the Movie?

We were watching Obsession, a very capable and disturbing new horror movie (big fans), and about an hour and fifteen minutes or so in, our eyes noticed something in one of the scenes:

St. Luke’s Community Hospital Easton.

Which, of course, made us do the whole “wait, what?” thing.

It did not exactly look like Easton in the Lehigh Valley, so we looked it up, and of course Reddit already had a thread about it. Apparently, according to a commenter citing the director’s commentary, the sign was digitally added in post-production and was not the actual filming location.

Still, it is a fun little Lehigh Valley moment hiding inside a California-set horror movie.

Now we’re curious if anyone working on Obsession has ties to the Lehigh Valley, or if this was just an oddly specific Easton reference that somehow made its way into the film.

Either way, always fun to see little things like this pop up.
