Shanthi Project, the Easton-based nonprofit bringing evidence-based mindfulness education to more than 5,000 kids and adults each year across the Greater Lehigh Valley, has announced new leadership on its Board of Directors.
Debora “Debi” Rice has been appointed President of the Board, with Sarah Morgan named Vice President. The organization says the transition supports its mission of teaching social-emotional resiliency through mindfulness, with a continued emphasis on meeting local mental health needs for people of all ages.
Rice has served on Shanthi Project’s board for two years and most recently chaired its Fund Development Committee. She’s the founder of Fun-Nominal Events & Marketing and brings a background in event management and branding. In her new role, Rice plans to help grow and diversify funding and strengthen Shanthi’s focus on teen and tween mental health.
Morgan, involved with Shanthi Project since 2024, brings more than two decades of healthcare communications experience across corporate, agency, and startup settings. A mindfulness practitioner and trained meditation teacher, she aims to broaden awareness of Shanthi’s programs throughout the Lehigh Valley.
Rice and Morgan step into their roles as outgoing President Tiffany Yurasits and Vice President Dave Erickson step down after serving since 2022. Executive Director Kim Hopkins thanked the outgoing leaders for helping strengthen the organization’s foundation and welcomed the new team as Shanthi Project continues its next chapter of community-based mindfulness education.
