The Roxy Comes Alive During Open World Animation Festival 2025

Posted On October 30, 2025 By lvwithlove In Community News /

The Roxy is about to get weird in the best possible way.

From November 6 to 9, the Open World Animation Festival returns for its second year, transforming Northampton’s Historic Roxy Theatre into a four-day showcase of imagination. With more than 150 films from 36 countries, it’s a global celebration of creativity that swings from family nostalgia to full-on surrealism.

The event is run entirely by volunteers!

You’ll see everything from Saturday Morning Cartoons packed with vintage TV ads to a late-night Horror, Sci-Fi and Beyond lineup cuerated by some pretty knowledgeable people.

The program also includes Animated Documentaries curated by award-winning animator Amy Lee Ketchum, and a nine-film VR showcase for anyone who wants to step right into the world of animation.

$5 gets you a screening block, $10 covers the day, and $30 lets you see it all.

Each session runs about 90 minutes, and every one of them offers something completely different.
