Moravian University Millennium Fellows 2025

Posted On October 7, 2025 By lvwithlove In Community News /

Eight Moravian University students have been named to the Millennium Fellowship Class of 2025, a prestigious global leadership program presented by the Millennium Campus Network (MCN) and United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI). Moravian joins the University of Pennsylvania as the only two institutions in Pennsylvania to host a Millennium cohort this year.

The Millennium Fellowship supports undergraduate leaders advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the UNAI Principles through community-based projects. Selected from a record 60,396 applicants across 160 countries, only about 4% of campuses worldwide were chosen to host the fellowship program in 2025.

“This recognition highlights Moravian’s deep commitment to global citizenship and shared heritage,” said Bryon Grigsby, president of Moravian University. “Our students continue to demonstrate how local action can have a global impact.”

The 2025 Moravian University Millennium Fellows are Mayzi Edelheiser (Campus Director), Venessa Derwin, Katelynn Hazeltine, Ava Larsen, Melony Nonnemacher (Campus Director), Ellie Umstead, Dalley Silwamba, and Gavin Wagner.

Throughout the semester-long program, these fellows will strengthen their leadership, organizing, and partnership-building skills while implementing sustainability-driven initiatives that serve their communities.

Students interested in applying for the Millennium Fellowship Class of 2026 can learn more at millenniumfellows.org or contact Carol Traupmann-Carr, Vice President for Institutional Effectiveness, at traupmancarrc@moravian.edu.
