Sophia and Noah topped Jefferson Health’s list of 2025 baby names, leading the charge among thousands of babies born across the system’s 10 hospitals that deliver babies. For girls, Sophia was the most popular choice with 60 babies given the name, followed closely by Emma (53) and Isabella (52). For boys, Noah claimed the top spot with 103 babies, with Liam next at 91.
Some of the year’s naming trends also carried a distinctly Philadelphia flavor. Jefferson reported more than 45 babies named Cooper and seven named Jalen, along with Phillies-friendly picks including 35 Harpers (used for both boys and girls) and seven Bryces. The system also noted a baby named Kelce, adding another local sports wink to the 2025 list.
Beyond the top names and hometown nods, Jefferson’s list included plenty of distinctive choices, from place-inspired names like Toronto, Egypt, Boston, Bronx, and Holland to joy-themed picks such as Love, Miracle, Charm, and Wonder. Nationally, BabyCenter reported Noah remained the No. 1 boy name in 2025 and Olivia held the top spot for girls.
