Blue Mountain Resort in Palmerton, Pennsylvania will open the 2025/2026 winter season on Friday, December 5 at 9 a.m., offering 30% of the mountain, 40 acres of skiable terrain and 13 trails to start the season. Details and tickets are available at https://www.skibluemt.com/.
Five lifts are scheduled to spin on opening day, with snow tubing expected to open Thursday, December 11. Early season terrain includes Easy Out, Vista, Burma Road, Shuttle, Paradise and Central Park with terrain park features, with more trails planned to follow that weekend.
To support the strong start, Blue Mountain has invested in new TechnoAlpin TT10 and TR10 fan guns and upgraded underground snowmaking infrastructure on key runs, improving coverage and efficiency. The resort has also installed 380 upgraded LED trail lights, enhancing visibility and the overall night skiing experience.
Regular winter hours are Monday–Friday, 9 a.m.–9 p.m., and Saturday–Sunday, 8 a.m.–9 p.m. With 171 acres of terrain, 40 trails, 14 lifts and a 1,082-foot vertical drop, Blue Mountain remains one of Pennsylvania’s most prominent ski destinations and is accessible on both the Ikon Pass (https://www.ikonpass.com/) and the local Poconos Peak To Peak pass.
