Richard G. Named October Employee of the Month at Allentown Rescue Mission

Posted On November 6, 2025 By lvwithlove In Community News /

It’s not every day that a story of hard work and faith comes full circle, but for Richard G., October’s Employee of the Month at the Allentown Rescue Mission’s Clean Team Workforce, that’s exactly what happened.

Richard’s life hasn’t been easy. After years of addiction and hardship, he reached a turning point when he entered the Allentown Rescue Mission’s Transformation Program. There, he found purpose and a renewed connection to his faith. “It brought me closer to God,” Richard said. “I got a chance to break bread with my new Brothers in Christ.”

After graduating from the program, Richard joined the Clean Team Workforce, a transitional employment initiative that gives men the opportunity to rebuild their lives through meaningful work. Known for his reliability and positive attitude, Richard quickly became a valued team member, often arriving early and offering help wherever it’s needed.

He played a key role in the Mission’s recent warehouse move, helping install security cameras and troubleshoot equipment. His dedication didn’t go unnoticed. When assigned to a local valve manufacturer, his skills and attention to detail earned him a promotion to company trainee and the possibility of a permanent position.

The Allentown Rescue Mission recognized Richard not only for his work ethic but for his ongoing commitment to serving others and sharing his faith. His journey is a testament to the power of transformation, second chances, and grace.
