Touchstone Theatre’s Alice in Informationland Transforms Linderman Library into a Digital Wonderland

Posted On September 25, 2025 By lvwithlove In Community News /

Touchstone Theatre, in partnership with Lehigh University Libraries, will present Alice in Informationland on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Lehigh’s historic Linderman Library. This original, interactive performance reimagines Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland for the digital age and invites audiences to navigate a world of misinformation, data ethics, and artificial intelligence.

Created by Touchstone Ensemble Members Jp Jordan, Christopher Shorr, and Matt Prideaux with input from Lehigh Libraries staff, the show casts attendees as Alice, tasked with gathering evidence to face judgment in the Queen’s Court. Along the way, they will encounter AI-inspired challenges, glitch out with the Cheshire Cat, and embrace chaos at a tea party in a choose-your-own-path adventure through the library.

Commissioned by The Friends of the Lehigh University Libraries, the production sparks conversation around the ethical use of AI while celebrating imagination, critical thinking, and collaboration. Audience members can arrive anytime between 7 and 8:30 p.m., with the experience lasting about 30 to 45 minutes. The event is free and open to the public, with limited capacity for 200 attendees.

The evening also connects to Informationland: The Past and Future of Libraries, a Special Collections exhibit at Linderman. The display explores libraries’ evolving role from clay tablets to AI, with rare records, archives, and media formats on view through December.

Alice in Informationland is supported by The Friends of the Lehigh University Libraries and Touchstone Theatre’s season sponsors. More information is available at touchstone.org.
