Star of the Day Announces Open Auditions for VHS Christmas Carol in Emmaus

Posted On September 30, 2025 By lvwithlove In Community News /

Star of the Day Productions will hold open auditions for its holiday coffeehouse production of VHS Christmas Carol on October 15 and 16 in Emmaus, Pennsylvania. The show, directed by Parker Ryan, runs December 12–14 at Between the Lines Studio Theatre.

The production reimagines Charles Dickens’ classic tale through the lens of 1980s synth music. Written by composer Clark Baxtresser, VHS Christmas Carol blends live performance with film to create an immersive experience that explores Christmases past, present, and future in a radically new way.

Auditions are open to performers ages 12 and up, with roles available for both adults and children. Characters include Ebenezer Scrooge, Bob Cratchit, Tiny Tim, Jacob Marley, the Ghosts of Christmas, and more. Singers should prepare up to 32 bars of a Broadway, pop, or rock-style song, with selections from VHS Christmas Carol permitted.

“We are incredibly excited to bring this show to our community and are looking for talented performers to help us tell this powerful story,” said Kirsten Almeida, Managing Artistic Director of Star of the Day. “I can’t wait to get this project started so Star of the Day can bring something new and unique to the holiday season in the Lehigh Valley.”

  • Location: St. John’s UCC, 139 N. 4th Street, Emmaus, PA
