Bakithi Kumalo & The South African All-Stars Launch Godfrey Daniels’ 50th Anniversary Series at the IceHouse

Posted On March 16, 2026 By lvwithlove In Community News /

Godfrey Daniels will kick off its 50th Anniversary Series Live at the IceHouse with Bakithi Kumalo & The South African All-Stars on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at the Charles A. Brown IceHouse in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

The show begins at 8 p.m., with doors opening at 7 p.m. Advance tickets are $41.17, with day-of-show admission priced at $46.37.

Best known for his celebrated fretless bass work on Paul Simon’s Graceland, Bakithi Kumalo has built an international reputation through collaborations with artists including Hugh Masekela, Sting, Stevie Wonder, John Legend, Gloria Estefan, Derek Trucks, and Miriam Makeba. Ranked among the top 50 bass players in the world by Bass Player Magazine, Kumalo brings a sound that blends South African rhythms, jazz, and global influences.

Joining him are The South African All-Stars: Morris Goldberg on saxophone and flute, David Bravo on keyboard, and Sipho Kunene on vocals, guitar, and flute, with special guest vocalist Lenore. The performance will include music inspired by the iconic Graceland album along with a broader mix of South African tunes, jazz, and world fusion.

This concert opens a four-show anniversary series presented by Godfrey Daniels, celebrating the organization’s legacy as a cultural anchor in the Lehigh Valley while expanding its signature listening-room experience to a larger stage.

The event is sponsored by WDIY 88.1 FM.
