Social Media in the Job Search

Posted On October 18, 2016 By lvwithlove In Blog /

Lehigh Valley with Love Media was honored to be asked to speak at Northampton Community College’s Mocktails Networking & Etiquitte Dinner on October 18 on their Bethlehem Campus.

mocktails2We were asked to speak about social media and how it relates to the job search in the current oversharing climate.

Some of what we discussed fell into the realm of “common sense” while some might have been a bit surprising, such as how many hiring managers weren’t too keen on firearms postings.

Also, remember how annoying “grammar nazis” are on Facebook? Well, they just might be onto something. Many hiring managers take proper spelling and grammar usage, even in personal messages, into consideration when looking at a candidate.

In an effort not to repeat ourselves, we have included our presentation below, which you can easily scroll through.

Thank you again to Northampton Community College.

If you’re interested in us speaking at your upcoming event, please shoot as an email at info@lehighvalleywithlovemedia.com.
