Popcorn Pushers: Local Filmmakers Premiere New Sitcom at The Emmaus Theatre (WATCH THE TRAILER)

Posted On October 16, 2025 By lvwithlove In Blog, Community News /

The Lehigh Valley’s comedy scene takes center stage this fall with the premiere of Popcorn Pushers: Season 01, a darkly funny new sitcom from creator Jiah Peck and his production team, Pigeon City. The series follows the eccentric staff of a struggling movie theater secretly owned by loan sharks, inspired by Peck’s real-life experiences working at Regal Cinemas in Quakertown and the County Theater in Doylestown.

Directed by Thom Peeler and co-written by J.J. Ellis, Popcorn Pushers features an ensemble cast of standout local talent including Steven Bost, Anthony DeSanctis, Erica Sylvester, Gabrielle Huggins, Terrence Haynes, and Lisa VanArsdale. The show was filmed throughout the Lehigh Valley and eastern Pennsylvania at locations such as The Emmaus Theatre, and ArtsQuest.

The world premiere screening takes place Saturday, November 8 at 7:30 p.m. at The Emmaus Theatre (19 S. 4th Street, Emmaus, PA). Tickets are $10 and available through the theater’s website.

Audiences can also look forward to the show’s online release, with episodes debuting on Pigeon City’s YouTube channel and social platforms in January 2026.

As Peck explains, “It’s funny, weird, and dark—and it’s all inspired by our years behind the concession counter.”
