Bethlehem Christmas Tree Toss 2025: Tossing Trees and Raising Hope for Turning Point of the Lehigh Valley

Posted On November 4, 2025 By lvwithlove In Blog, Community News, Press Release /  1

A Lehigh Valley holiday tradition with heart and humor is back and bigger than ever. The Peter Kearns Memorial Christmas Tree Toss, presented by More Miles Automotive in collaboration with Lehigh Valley with Love Media, will return on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at 10 a.m. at More Miles Automotive (1458 Stefko Blvd., Bethlehem).

The event raises funds for Turning Point of the Lehigh Valley, which provides critical support to survivors of domestic and intimate-partner abuse.

What began in 2002 as a friendly backyard challenge between the late Peter Kearns and his friend Mike DeCrosta has grown into one of the region’s most beloved winter traditions. Each December, participants of all ages line up to see how far they can hurl a retired Christmas tree, with every dollar raised going toward helping local families find safety and hope.

After a short hiatus following Kearns’ retirement in 2013, the Tree Toss returned in 2015 and has only grown since. The event now draws crowds from across the Lehigh Valley and beyond, gaining both local and national attention for its blend of competition, community, and compassion.

“This is one of those rare events that captures everything good about Bethlehem,” said Mike DeCrosta, owner of More Miles Automotive. “Peter started it as a bit of fun between friends, but the way it has grown shows how much this community cares. Every tree thrown helps a family in need, and that is something worth celebrating.”

Attendees can expect music, refreshments, and giveaways throughout the morning. Children will have their own smaller trees to toss, and prizes will be awarded for the longest throws.

A $5 donation per throw is suggested, and all proceeds benefit Turning Point of the Lehigh Valley.

Donations can be made on-site or by mailing a check payable to: Turning Point of the Lehigh Valley c/o More Miles Automotive, 1458 Stefko Blvd., Bethlehem, PA.

We’re hoping to make this the biggest year yet!
