BBBSLV Celebrates Mentoring Milestones at Youth Mentoring Center Open House

Posted On May 13, 2026 By lvwithlove In Community News /

Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Lehigh Valley recently welcomed community members, partners, alumni, and supporters to its Youth Mentoring Center in East Allentown for a special Open House celebrating two major milestones: 10 years in the space and more than 50 years of youth mentorship across the Lehigh Valley.

Held on April 29, the event offered guests a behind-the-scenes look at how BBBSLV supports one-to-one mentoring relationships, from enrollment and match support to enrichment programming and long-term leadership strategy. Attendees toured key areas of the center, including Friendship Hall and the STEAM Lab, where mentoring relationships are strengthened through shared experiences, creativity, and exploration.

A highlight of the evening was the former church sanctuary, where BBBSLV shared its vision to transform the space into a Community Hub focused on youth career exploration, workforce readiness, and expanded opportunities. Guests were invited to offer input on potential features and amenities for the future space.

Susan Bartels, CEO of BBBSLV, said the event was an opportunity to reflect on the organization’s impact while inviting the community to help shape its next chapter. She emphasized the center’s role in building confidence, forming relationships, and changing futures through mentorship.

As BBBSLV looks ahead, the organization remains committed to expanding access to mentorship, strengthening community connections, and creating new pathways for young people to explore their interests and future careers.
