The Delaware & Lehigh National Heritage Corridor (DLNHC), in partnership with the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, has issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) seeking qualified firms to develop a new strategic plan for the Lehigh Valley Greenways Conservation Landscape.
The initiative marks the next phase of planning for Lehigh Valley Greenways, a regional partnership focused on conserving natural resources, expanding outdoor recreation, supporting community revitalization, and strengthening environmental education across Lehigh and Northampton counties.
The selected firm will lead stakeholder engagement, evaluate best-practice models, and develop a comprehensive five-year strategic plan. The final deliverable will include both a detailed roadmap and an implementation matrix to guide future efforts.

Proposals must be received by April 10, 2026, at 5 p.m. EST. Questions regarding the RFP must be submitted through the online form by March 27 at 4 p.m.

Project Timeline
Submissions will be reviewed from April 13 through May 8, followed by interviews between May 11 and May 22. A final selection is expected during the week of May 25.
The project is scheduled to begin June 1, 2026, and conclude by November 30, 2026.
Founded in 2004, Lehigh Valley Greenways is one of eight designated Conservation Landscapes in Pennsylvania and includes more than 25 partner organizations. The collaboration aims to connect communities through greenways, trails, and outdoor experiences that support economic growth, public health, and environmental stewardship.
DLNHC, a nonprofit organization, supports these efforts through programs such as the D&L Trail and National Canal Museum, helping connect residents and visitors to the region’s natural and industrial heritage.
