Relive Sweet Groman’s Bakery Memories at the Kemerer Museum in Bethlehem on Jan. 17

Posted On January 12, 2026 By lvwithlove In Community News /

Many Lehigh Valley residents still remember marking life’s big moments with cakes, pastries, and tortes from Groman’s Bakery. On Saturday, Jan. 17, 2026, the community can revisit that legacy during a special program at the Kemerer Museum of Decorative Arts in Bethlehem.

Richard Groman Jr. will speak about his family’s baking history at 11 a.m. and again at 1 p.m., followed by a tour of the Baked into Bethlehem exhibition, which features original machinery and treasured objects from the Groman family collection. Founded in the 1920s, Ezra D. Groman Bakeries became known across the region for elaborate cakes, and the family continues the tradition today with their original-recipe sugar cookies offered seasonally through Historic Bethlehem Museums & Sites.

The Kemerer Museum is located at 427 N. New St., Bethlehem. Tickets are $15 for HBMS members and $25 for the public, and include admission to both the Kemerer Museum and the Moravian Museum of Bethlehem on Jan. 17. Museum hours that day are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. More info and tickets: https://historicbethlehem.org
