Historic Bethlehem’s Blacksmith Shop Plans Festive 2025 Holiday Season

Posted On December 1, 2025 By lvwithlove In Community News /

Historic Bethlehem’s 1750/1761 Smithy will take center stage in the 2025 holiday season with expanded dates, longer hours and new activities aimed at drawing visitors to Main Street and enhancing the charm of the Christmas City.

For 2025, the Smithy will feature a festive makeover with flame-flicker-style lighting, holiday greens, illuminated trees and a vintage carriage photo backdrop for family photos and selfies. Outside, gas fire pits and solar lighting will create a welcoming atmosphere, while weekend children’s activities such as weaving and tin punching add hands-on fun.

An enclosed canvas tent beside the Smithy will host demonstrating artisans and showcase one-of-a-kind handmade items perfect for holiday shopping. Throughout the season, working smiths led by Smith of Practice Luke Dellmyer will demonstrate blacksmithing, tinsmithing and pewtersmithing, offering an authentic look at trades that shaped 18th- and 19th-century Bethlehem.

The shop will be open Nov. 28–30 and Dec. 5–7 from 11 a.m. to 6:15 p.m., then daily from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. starting Dec. 11 (closed Dec. 24–25). Reconstructed on its original foundation in 2004 beside Historic Hotel Bethlehem, the Smithy continues to connect visitors with Bethlehem’s Colonial Industrial Quarter and Historic Main Street.
