Bethlehem’s midwinter party season will stretch a little longer when Hearthsong Folk Arts and Celtic musical troupe The Chivalrous Crickets & Friends host the Third Annual Bethlehem Twelfth Night Celebration, themed for Scottish Hogmanay, on Saturday, January 3, 2026 at the Charles A. Brown Ice House.
Billed as part show, part festival, and part community party, the event blends old-world Yuletide customs with Scottish New Year traditions. Attendees can expect a lively mix of Celtic music, a piping processional, caroling, and ceilidh dancing (watch or join), along with a “guising” play inspired by traditional mummers performances, complete with comedic sword-fighting.

The evening also features mid-show trivia hosted by Steven Bost, children’s games including Pass the Parcel, poems and lore, and a Lord of Misrule-style lottery (called the Abbot of Unreason in Scotland). In the lobby, guests can enjoy cider and sweets, crafting, and a “Divination Station” offering a playful nod to New Year fortune-telling folk customs.
From the strange to the hearth-warming, the celebration is designed as a family-friendly way to step back in time, connect to Celtic heritage, and mark the close of Christmastide while welcoming the new year with music, mischief, and tradition. Festive or fanciful holiday garb is encouraged.

Tickets are available in multiple price options to match different budgets.
