The fourth annual Route 22 Filmworks Film Festival will celebrate independent and student filmmakers at the Charles A. Brown Ice House in Bethlehem on Saturday, August 22, 2026.
Running from noon to 9 p.m., the festival will screen 40 films produced by independent filmmakers, most of whom are from Pennsylvania.
This year’s program will place a special emphasis on student filmmakers from across the state. The lineup includes work from students at Parkland High School and Cedar Crest High School, along with films created by students at DeSales University, Penn State, PennWest University, PennWest Edinboro and Temple University.

“This year features some incredibly talented high school students,” said Vincent Stahl, one of Route 22 Filmworks’ co-founders. “We developed this festival to celebrate local, independent filmmaking. But also to highlight the wonderful work being done by students of all ages. And we’re honored to have them be a part of this annual event.”

The grassroots festival launched in 2023, when more than two dozen locally produced short films and a collection of projects created by Route 22 Filmworks were screened. Organizers say submissions have continued to grow each year, bringing filmmakers from across Pennsylvania to Bethlehem.
