The Allentown Rescue Mission’s Clean Team Workforce has selected Antoine T. as its November Employee of the Month.
Antoine first came to the Mission in 2014 after unexpected circumstances left him without stable housing. He completed the Mission’s Transformation Program, which prepared him for transitional employment on the Clean Team Workforce. After several months with the Clean Team, he secured a job in the community and moved forward independently.
When Antoine was recently laid off, he returned to the Clean Team Workforce through its lifetime safety-net program for former employees in good standing. He rejoined the team in September and immediately took on a key role in relocating tools and equipment to a new garage, helping ensure the month-long move was completed on schedule. Known for seeking out challenging assignments, Antoine often says he wants to take on the hardest work available.
Today he serves as a crew leader and driver, assigned full-time to a recycling facility. He is focused on saving money and working toward permanent employment with the company. Clean Team Workforce supervisors report that he is performing exceptionally well and wish him continued success.
The Allentown Rescue Mission, a 145-bed nonprofit shelter, has served men in crisis since 1900. Along with emergency shelter offered year-round, it provides a faith-based residential life-skills program and transitional employment through the Clean Team Workforce, which pays above Pennsylvania’s minimum wage. Each year, the Mission shelters nearly 1,000 men and serves more than 60,000 meals. To refer someone for services or learn how to support the Mission, visit allentownrescuemission.org.
