Easton Book Festival 2025 Brings a Week of Literature and Art to Easton

Posted On October 12, 2025 By lvwithlove In Community News /

The seventh annual Easton Book Festival returns October 13–19, bringing a full week of storytelling, conversation, and creativity to the city. Presented by Lafayette College, the festival highlights local and national voices through author talks, workshops, performances, and community events—all free and open to the public.

The week begins Monday, October 13, with children’s story hours at the Easton Public Library, including a Banned Books reading with Andy Laties and an interactive Monster Hunt adventure with author Jason Edwards.

At Book & Puppet Co., poet Kailey Tedesco leads “It’s Alive! Placing Monsters in Our Poems,” a workshop that invites participants to explore folklore through verse. Later that afternoon, performer Lynnie Godfrey joins journalist Melba Tolliver for a conversation and cabaret performance based on Godfrey’s book Lessons Learned While Seeking the Spotlight. The evening closes with a Lehigh Valley Poetry Virtual Open Mic, hosted by E. Lynn Alexander and Darrell Parry.

Tuesday and Wednesday offer hands-on writing sessions and creative workshops, followed midweek by a conversation between The Atlantic’s David Graham and Melba Tolliver on Project 2025. Thursday night’s Wicked Brew at Connexions Gallery blends poetry, art, and music with a seasonal edge.

Friday and Saturday mark the festival’s busiest stretch, with events ranging from the Authenticity LGBTQIA+ art exhibition at the International Fusionism Museum to a “Meet Mark Twain” performance at Book & Puppet Co. Saturday, October 18, features the Easton Farmers Market Local Author Meet and Greet, the Lehigh Valley Zine Exchange, and a full schedule of panels on storytelling, collaboration, and creative resilience.

The celebration continues Sunday, October 19, with the Small Press Expo at the Sigal Museum, the horror author panel “Doors of Darkness,” and memoir discussions featuring Melba Tolliver and Andy Laties. Additional highlights include a screening of Make a Circle, presented by PennAEYC and AAUW Easton, as well as poetry readings, leadership talks, and creative writing workshops.

The Easton Book Festival continues to connect people through words and ideas, honoring both Easton’s literary roots and its vibrant present. The complete festival schedule and downloadable booklet are available at eastonbookfestival.com.
