What Happens on the Internet in One Minute (AND WHY THAT MATTERS TO YOUR BUSINESS)

Social media trends are important because the easier it is for users to get involved, the easier it is for businesses to get them involved.

For example, if you’re in the retail space and your main demographic is women aged 35 to 55 years of age, Pinterest is going to be a good spot for you to share some of your product links. Why? Because women aged 35 to 55 years of age seem to enjoy Pinterest.

If your business is simply looking to reach more users, than the best method is to see what current trends are, well, trending, and follow accordingly.

Excelacom recently released a fun graphic showing what goes on in one minute on the internet and there are a few things that businesses should at least take a bit of a longer look at.

Let’s take a look at Snapchat compared to Instagram in the one minute time frame. According to Excelacom’s research, there are more than 525,000 photos being shared on Snapchat in one minute compared to a little more than 38,000 photos being posted on the latest social media darling, Instagram.

Snapchat is, of course, much more limited when it comes to businesses sharing their photos, however, the rate at which people are simply using the platform may persuade smaller businesses to start using the platform, especially if they were on the fence.

We’ll be posting a more in-depth explanation on how small businesses can use Snapchat as a new social media tool. But, in the mean time, it may be time to sign up if you haven’t already.
