A Few Ways to Give Back in Bethlehem This Holiday Season

Posted On November 19, 2025 By lvwithlove In Blog, Community News /

Bethlehem residents have several meaningful ways to give back this holiday season, with nonprofits and small businesses organizing food drives, toy collections, fundraisers and outreach efforts that directly support local families and neighbors in need. Below are several opportunities for community members to get involved.

Northeast Community Center (NECC) Food Drive

The Northeast Community Center is leading a nonperishable food drive to support local families in need. The Bethlehem Chamber of Commerce is serving as a designated drop-off location at 74 W. Broad Street, Suite 240. NECC’s Food Pantry remains critically low while continuing to provide essential groceries to more than 300 local families.

Items Needed: 1 lb. bags of rice, pasta, pasta sauce, beans, canned meats, canned vegetables and fruits, cereal, pancake mix, coffee, tea, juices and bottled drinks.

“Legacy of Love” Trellis Ornament Fundraiser

This year’s Citizens’ Christmas City Committee Trellis Initiative, Legacy of Love, benefits Victory House of Lehigh Valley in honor of its 40 years of service. Victory House provides shelter and hope to men experiencing homelessness and recently opened its first licensed recovery house for women.

The formal trellis dedication will take place during the Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony at Payrow Plaza on November 28 at 5 PM.

Christmas City Village Toy Drive

New, unused toys are being collected at Hut 82 in the Sun Inn Courtyard during Christmas City Village. Additional drop-off locations are available in many shops and restaurants throughout the Historic District. All donations support the Boys and Girls Club of Bethlehem.

CAT Holiday Bikes Program

Downtown Bethlehem merchants are partnering with the Coalition for Appropriate Transportation to showcase and store refurbished bicycles. These bikes will be donated to local children and families who need reliable transportation and a bit of holiday joy. CAT aims to donate 100 bicycles this season.
