Instagram Adds New “Focus” Feature

Posted On April 11, 2018 By lvwithlove In Blog /

The latest iPhone’s portrait mode has created a better selfie and Instagram wants to make sure that they get in on the party. Besides, what’s a good selfie if you have to see what’s going on behind you?

In all seriousness, Instagram’s latest “Focus” feature can create some fun, and better looking, photos to share with your friends.

When you open the camera, you’ll see “Focus” next to “Superzoom” under the record button. Take a selfie or switch to the back-facing camera to find a friend. As soon as there’s someone in the shot, you’ll notice the person stays in focus while the background softly blurs — making sure they stand out in a striking way. Simply tap to take a photo or tap and hold to record a video. When you’re done, you can add creative tools like filters, stickers and text to your photo or video before sending to your friends on Instagram Direct or adding to your story. – Instagram

Instagram is also adding @mention stickers for iOS, which makes it more fun to tag friends in your photos.

The Facebook-owned photo platform is at the top of the social media pyramid, at least at the time of the writing of this article, and these small additions shouldn’t do anything to change their status in the near future.
