Families looking for a fun and affordable day out can mark their calendars for Historic Bethlehem’s Community Heritage Day on Saturday, April 18, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Colonial Industrial Quarter in Bethlehem. Admission is free, and the event brings 18th-century Bethlehem to life with hands-on activities, artisan demonstrations, food, music, and open houses throughout the historic site.
As part of the celebration, we’re giving away three pairs of kids activities passes (form here or below). These passes let children take part in interactive experiences like tin punching, making a clay pinch pot, and creating a leather keychain. According to Historic Bethlehem’s event details, the Activities Pass is designed to give kids a more hands-on way to explore early crafts and trades.
The event takes place at the Colonial Industrial Quarter, a 10-acre historic site that Historic Bethlehem describes as one of the nation’s earliest industrial centers and part of Moravian Church Settlements–Bethlehem, the newest U.S. World Heritage Site. Visitors can explore historic buildings including the 1762 Waterworks, the 1750 Smithy, and the newly restored Grist Miller’s House, while enjoying living-history demonstrations throughout the day.
Community Heritage Day will also feature half-price guided tours, local food vendors, an old-fashioned bake sale, live presentations, and the return of the Antique Treasure Show from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
