Bethlehem, PA – September 25, 2025 — ArtsQuest is presenting a series of fall exhibitions that highlight Bethlehem’s history, celebrate creativity, and foster community engagement. The programs, developed with local partners, span themes from industrial heritage to personal storytelling.
Steel Weekend
October 11–12 at the National Museum of Industrial History
This two-day event honors the legacy of Bethlehem Steel and the workers who shaped the Lehigh Valley’s industrial past. Visitors can explore the heritage and impact of one of the most influential companies in the region’s history.
Marissa Alise Baez: Materia Medica
September 26 – February 1 at the Alvin H. Butz Gallery, ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks
This exhibition examines migration, colonization, displacement, and hybrid identity through cyanotype prints, archival documents, and personal family materials. Artist Marissa Alise Baez draws from Mexican workers’ connections to Bethlehem Steel and the broader Latinx diaspora. Integrating photography, sculpture, and performance, Baez connects ancestral lineage with contemporary struggles. The exhibition culminates in a participatory healing performance for marginalized communities.
Aging Creatively: A Senior Art Exhibition
September 22 – October 24 at the Bethlehem Visitor Center at SteelStacks
Presented by Lehigh Valley Health Network, this exhibition showcases artwork by seniors from aged care communities across the Lehigh Valley. Facilitated by ArtsQuest Teaching Artist Katrina Heebner, the project stems from Creative Aging sessions designed to celebrate the beauty of living a creative life.
Emma Ryan: Pop-Up Exhibition
October – December at the Bethlehem Area Public Library
Local artist and ArtsQuest Teaching Artist Emma Ryan will showcase an interdisciplinary paper-based exhibition exploring human connections, emotions, and community. Her work spans papermaking, collage, and book arts.
ArtsQuest invites the public to explore, learn, and connect through these exhibitions, which spotlight both the region’s heritage and contemporary creativity.
